This paper presents an overview of gender and ICT issues, as well as key outcomes and recommendations from the expert group meeting on “Information and communication technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women” in 2002. It is presented to the plenary of the 47th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in March 2003.
