This directory aims to facilitate better networking among women working
in community radio and also to provide stations and partner
organisations with the actual number of women working in community
radio in Africa. The information upon which data was collated is based
through the use of a questionnaire and verbal interviews. The directory
also provides information on information and communication tecnology
(ICT) training obtained for women in community radio.
The book points out that very few women in the community radio sector
have had formal training in the field of ICTs. The writers argue - how
can women bridge the digital divide if they are not given ICT training
and how can they be expected to report on ICTs effectively?
