Ruhiya Seward
Ruhiya Seward works as a Senior Program Officer for International Development Research Centre. As a Senior Program Officer with IDRC’s Networked Economies team, Ruhiya oversees a portfolio of research on disruptive tech, from digital rights, open development and the feminist internet, to access, data analytics and AI. She has been involved with international development in both high level policy settings, and at the community level for nearly two decades. Her work and interests are on improving how human rights (online and onground) are actualized through participatory and inclusive (and sometimes contentious) governance processes. She has a Ph.D. in comparative politics from the New School for Social Research, and an M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
